There has been a misguidance or rather I should say unawareness of these two concepts. Although both fall under the umbrella of sound therapy. Even I didn’t know this, until I learnt the form and got certified.
Sound bath is a meditative practice where participants are "bathed" in resonant sounds, typically from instruments like singing bowls, gongs, or chimes, to induce relaxation and a meditative state.
It usually is practiced for a group of people who have gathered together to release themselves of a stressful day, week or month.
Sound Healing is more personal. Sound healing is when the facilitator becomes a channel of energy that heals and balances your chakras/energy centres of the body. They understand your background , your physical ailments, mental and emotional health and fine tune the session for you based on your requirements. It includes instruments such as singing bowls, tingsha , tuning forks with each instrument struck in a different protocol meant to heal individually. For instance, if someones heart chakra / anahata is blocked or imbalanced, the method of striking the instruments differs from the one whose root chakra / muladhara is blocked.
Some facilitators such as me, also suggest remedies to balance the chakras after the session. Remedies include color therapy, crystal therapy, diet plans , yoga poses to align the individual better.
Hope more and more people become aware of this.
