Mindful Mornings for Optimal wellness

So people often wonder what is that truly that drives people to achieve that absolute state of wellness. Is it a good morning fitness routine , is it a well defined Ayurvedic routine of 'Gandusha' , Nasyam and waking up before the sun or is it a quiet morning with just a glass of lukewarm water with lemon ?


If you ask me, I believe its all of it combined.


Not only as per Ayurveda and as per Modern Science , your early morning routine is defines your day.


My routine includes


  • Waking up and praying , setting intention for the day

  • Looking and basking in the morning sunlight which is great for balancing the vagus nerve, for your eyes and balancing the cortisol hormone

  • Making a lukewarm cup of herbal tea - cumin or fennel

  • Gandusha - oil pulling for oral hygiene

  • Jal Neeti - nasal cleansing on some days

  • Walk in nature (park/beach) for good 30-35 mins

  • Yoga in nature with meditation

  • Lifting weights - yes thats important too for muscle building

  • Nutritious breakfast

  • A bowl of fruits everyday or a big glass of fruit smoothie + vegetable juices

  • Working - writing , creating, practicing my sound healing routine


It sounds elaborate and hectic, but once you begin to do it, there is no looking back.


On odd days, I do mix in meeting a friend for breakfast and coffee because thats great for my mental health too.


As they say, life is all about the balance and consistency.
